LOW LEVEL ENERGIES DON’T HAVE TO LAST.

Low energy feelings can come from anywhere and from any situation – it is how we deal with them that will either benefit you or keep you feeling down.

Understand where the low-level energies come from:  What triggered your low level energy feelings?  Was it an argument you had with a significant other, family member or a friend?  Was there a stressful situation you had to deal with at work?  Was there a death of someone who is close to you?  Are you watching too much negative television?  Whatever the issue is – know that you are capable of addressing it right away.  If you had an argument with someone, don’t put blame just ask for understanding and forgiveness so that both parties involved can move forward in a positive way.  Dealing with issues at work can also be very stressful and cause low-level energy feelings – these issues can also be dealt with by talking with your employer, co-worker’s or Human Resources department by bringing the issue to them in a positive manner and asking for assistance to resolve the issue.  When death happens, we can’t ask for emotional healing overnight, there is a process to healing and you must let that process happen naturally.  Don’t let anyone tell you when or how long you have to heal, we all grieve differently.

Redirect the low-level energies by doing something positive:  The best way to get rid of low-level energies is to engage in something you love.  Write, draw, paint, dance, sing, walk, exercise, talk, do whatever it takes to bring love in to distinguish hate, anger or sadness.  If you are depressed or angry, take your depression and anger out by exercising and getting your blood flowing.  Feelings of sadness will diminish if you bring joy, laughter and love to others in need.  Surround yourself with animals if they make you happy – they love unconditionally and always bring joy and love into our lives.  Allowing yourself to engage in the activities you love will ensure that you will always remain joyful and filled with positive energy.

WE ARE NOT ALONE – we all experience low-level energy feelings, we may not know what others are experiencing and why they may be expressing their low-level energies onto you.  Remove yourself from that negative situation and send healing and love to the person who is expressing those low-level energies.

LIVING FOR LOVE

It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day struggle that we forget to show love and compassion for others and for our own health and well-being.  Here are some things you can do to reconnect with yourself and to provide on-going positive energy into our world.

TURN OFF YOUR TELEVISIONS

It is corporate media’s job to TELL YOU what products you should be buying, what medications to take and what food to eat.  They are in the business of making profits and are not concerned with your wellness.  Think about it.  Companies are not advertising foods that prevent positive health.  Television is notorious for selling the foods that perpetuate illness such as; high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. These diseases ensure drug companies maximize their profits by giving people the dependency to live longer with their illnesses without quality of life.

News networks are not independent and are only there to serve the corporations that own them.  Look to other news sources for things that are happening locally and internationally.  www.censorednews.com is a great resource.

RECONNECT WITH NATURE

By turning off your televisions from distraction, you are able to enjoy and be present to what is around you such as nature.  Reconnecting with our environment is an excellent way to restore health and piece of mind.  You can clear your mind from daily stress by going for a walk and breathing fresh air.  Going for walks allows you to get your blood flowing and burns calories.  This is a great opportunity to give back to mother nature.  Bring a garbage bag and pick up any garbage that can harm local wildlife and that makes where ever you are walking an eye sore.

MEDITATE

Meditation is a great way to release any stress that may be living inside of you.  Stress leads to emotional and physical disease.  There are many great resources to guided meditation.  A great resource is http://www.hayhouse.com

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

Perform random acts of kindness.  Not only is this beneficial to the person receiving the random act – it’s great for those who initiate it.  This doesn’t have to be a monetary act – it could be in form of a compliment or even a hug.

LOVE is powerful.  LOVE creates positive change.  LOVE is the essence of where we all came from.  It is in us to give and it is for us to receive.

MY KIND OF LOVE IS NOT A CHOICE I MADE.

Can we really choose our sexual orientation or is our sexual orientation already built within our DNA?  I can’t answer that question on a scientific level but I can certainly answer it based on my life experiences.

Let’s start as far back as I can remember.  I can’t pin point the exact moment that I realized that I was attracted to other men but I always knew that this was part of my being.  I wasn’t forced to choose my sexual attraction to other men – I was forced to simulate to what was around me and what other people thought was ‘normality’.  Society, religion and family forced heterosexuality upon me.  I grew up thinking that my attraction to other men was wrong because it was an unacceptable behavior in our society based mainly on religious beliefs.

So as a child – I was already being forced to accept other people’s ideas of what they thought was right.  I was told that my purpose in life was to get an education, get a good job, find a women, get a house, get married and start a family.  This was what was considered ‘normal’.  It wasn’t until I was a pre-teen that these ideas seemed wrong for me, especially the idea of being in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex.  That notion seemed completely against who I was – it wasn’t an authentic feeling.

Needless to say, I lived my life for the benefit of making other people happy.  I dated girls because it was what I had to do not what I felt.  Don’t get me wrong, I loved women but not in a sexual way.  For me, women were nurturing, emotional, great conversationalists, beautiful and loving.

When I began my journey into manhood, I realized that my life of lies, deceit and self-hate were only hurting me.  How can I love others if I don’t even love and respect myself?  I began my life of authenticity – it was a long and painful process.  I had to really look within and start being honest with myself.  I had to release all of the internal homophobia I learned from society, religion and family and then start living my life from love.  This was a struggle and continues to be a struggle but it in the end – it had to happen.

No one can tell you that you must love a certain person.  Love and attraction just happens naturally.  It is something that you can’t choose – I didn’t choose my sexuality, it was chosen for me.  As I said above, I was forced to assimilate to what was considered to be ‘normal’ and was stripped of an authentic part of who I was.

I love who I am today.  I love that I found a path that is in line of who I was meant to be.  I love being an individual with my own thoughts and ideas and I love that I no longer have to hide who I love.  I gained emotional scars throughout my journey but I have learned to love and cherish those beautiful scars because they have shaped me in becoming the person I am today – and I LOVE that person.

Don’t conform to what others tell you – look within and listen to the authenticity that lives within you, that authenticity should guide you in all the endeavors your life’s path will take you on.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

KINDNESS IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS.

It is inevitable – as we are born, so shall we die.  There was a time I feared death so much I would sink into a deep depression, for different reasons.  Religion taught me to fear death because of what we did during the time we lived.  Being bad and going against ‘the word of God’ would land you in Hell, where you would burn to infinity.  For a long time, I thought I was going to burn for eternity because I lived a sinful life as I broke some of God’s rules but mainly for the curse of being born homosexual.

Needless-to-say, I learned a better way than the fearful tactics of organized religion.  I am not hateful to those who believe and practice organized religion, as long as they don’t impose their views onto me.  I learned that being agnostic was the best way I could describe myself in terms of spirituality.

An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from commitment to any religious doctrine. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings.

How can I commit to something that offers no proof?  What I do believe, is that the world in which we live in is magnificent, majestic and complicated.  There are scientific explanations of how we came to be – I understand that and believe those ideas. But, I also believe there is something more unexplainable, spiritual and much more bigger than what we can explain.  I guess that is what people believe to be God.

Whatever our beliefs are in regards to how we came to be, shouldn’t we have a fundamental belief that we should all be respected, cared for, loved and taken care of?  Shouldn’t life and living be that simple?  Imagine if we took the time to not judge the homeless man on the street or shaming someone for being fat, a woman, gay, disabled, native or black?

There is nothing wrong with showing kindness – IT IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS.  Showing kindness is confirmation of the strength and love we have within us.  What is more full-filling than helping someone in need without thinking about what we can get in return?  Imagine the positive change we can instil in others when we give kindness.  By giving of ourselves – we can potential save lives.  Imagine the one day we happen to reach out to someone who craves any type of love, that we change their mind in taking their own lives?

You may think you have nothing to offer – but giving of ourselves doesn’t only have to be of the materialistic nature.  You can show kindness by giving someone your ear (not literally), I’m talking about listening to them.  Being present and acknowledging what they are saying without any judgments. How about offering a smile when you look at a stranger?  So many of us have become disconnected, we don’t engage with one another anymore because of modern technology.  We are constantly on our phones updated our FaceBook status or sharing pictures on Instagram that we forget to be present and in the moment of the company we are with.

Take a moment and think about what positive change you can create in the world with all the kindness you have within you.  What can you do to make the lives of those around you better?  Maybe your kindness, love, compassion and caring comes from the humour you provide to others.  Maybe it’s your empathy, sincerity, honesty and your ability to be the most authentic person you can be.

Again, I reiterate – KINDNESS IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS.  It’s a sign that you are present, connected, authentic, compassionate, caring and full of love to give to others.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

Path To Love

WHO HAVE YOU MADE JUDGMENTS AGAINST TODAY?

How many times have we come across situations we become uncomfortable with and how many times have we judged the people who are in those uncomfortable situations?  Instead of judging others based on their appearance, we should all take the time and try to understand why they may be in that situation.  Here are some examples of how we judge others without knowing the circumstances:

  • The homeless – we assume that they are addicts, are crazy and are they because they want to be there.
  • That “crazy” person screaming on the corner – again we make assumptions without understanding that person’s situation.
  • The lady who is talking to herself beside you on the bus.
  • The angry woman at the market.
  • The young boy who prefers to put on high heels on rather than play with trucks or the young girl who would rather play baseball than be a princess.
  • The guy in the park passed out beside an empty bottle of alcohol.
  • The large man or woman eating at a fast food change.
  • The man/woman walking into traffic – could be blind and not understand what he is doing.
  • etc..

Prior to making judgment’s against any other person – we should practice empathy.  When you see someone in any of the situations above, imagine yourself in their shoes.  Wouldn’t you want someone to reach out to you?

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

WHAT WILL YOU ACCOMPLISH TODAY?

What tasks or chores do you have to complete today?  Will your goals satisfy your heart and soul?

Think about the things we must do on a daily basis – they really don’t have a purpose except that we have to do them and we will either function and move on with our day.  Now, think about things that you want to do that will provide you with positive feelings and make you feel great for the rest of the day.  What will you accomplish today that will inspire others and the will ensure positivity throughout your day?  Here are some suggestions:

  • Teach your dog a new trick.
  • Talk your cat for a walk (yes, they need walks also).  Imagine the all the positive reactions you will have during your walk.
  • Compliment at least 10 coworkers or friends for no reason whatsoever.
  • Feed the homeless.
  • Volunteer to help animals/people who need help.
  • Learn something new that you didn’t know about yourself.
  • Run an extra mile.
  • Meditate.
  • Think before you speak and only allow yourself to say positive things.
  • Love without judgements.

Anything you accomplish is something to celebrate – however small or big.  Always look at your life and the lives of others with respect and positivity.  Always write down what you want to accomplish – and always be positive about it.

Have fun and may your goals create positive change in the universe.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

“You won’t find him drinking under tables

Rolling dice or staying out ’til three

You won’t ever find him be unfaithful

You will find him, you’ll find him next to me

You won’t find him tryna chase the devil

For money, fame, for power out of greed

You won’t ever find him where the rest go

You will find him, you’ll find him next to me

When the money’s spent and all my friends have vanished

And I can’t seem to find no help or love for free

I know there’s no need for me to panic

Cause I’ll find him, I’ll find him next to me

When the skies are grey and all the doors are closing

And the rising pressure makes it hard to breathe

When all I need’s a hand to stop the tears from falling

I will find him, I’ll find him next to me

When the end has come and buildings falling down fast

When we’ve spoilt the land and dried up all the sea

When everyone has lost their heads around us

You will find him, you’ll find him next to me”

The above words are from a terrific song that continues to inspire me to continue my advocacy for our planet, the environment, animals and anyone who needs encouragement and positive reinforcement.  The song is by Emeli Sande.  You can find it via iTunes or by visiting her website:  http://us.emelisande.com

ARE ONLINE PETITIONS SUCCESSFUL?

Today, information from around the world is almost instantaneous.  We receive images from events taking place all around the world and the world is able to respond.  Not all information is generally good in fact, most of it is to ask for assistance in spreading word of injustices happening to people and places all over the world.  We have seen and heard about some of these injustices such as; the right for women to receive proper education, equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans gendered people, equality for minority groups, protection of sensitive geographical locations on the earth and so on.

When you receive a petition, do you generally dismiss it or are you more than likely to sign them in order to create positive change in the world?  And by signing, do you feel that a particular petition will make a difference?  After some careful research, I believe they do.  Here are some examples of some successful petitions:

  • Greenpeace, League of Conservation Voters, Environment America and other organizations started a petition to support the Environmental Protection Agency’s Standards for limiting carbon pollution from power plants.

OUTCOME:  In the first 10 weeks over 1.4 million signatures were received.  According to Change.org: “By utilizing promoted sponsored campaigns on Change.org, these organizations increased the number of people voicing public support for the Carbon Pollution Standard to the EPA by 300% for a total of 2.1 million comments.  This is the largest number of signatures and comments submitted to any federal regulation in the U.S. history.”

  • Avaaz.org, 350.org and 1,700 other organizations decided to deliver the largest mobilization on climate change in history.  Avaaz Executive Director, Ricken Patel presented a 2 million strong petition to UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon on the march in New York, calling for 100% clean energy worldwide.

OUTCOME:  The marches let to many leaders at the following UN summit acknowledging the pressure coming from the streets.  The pressure is working – less than two months after the march, the US and China signed a landmark agreement, including new targets for carbon emission reductions by the US and a first-ever commitment by China to stop its emissions from growing by 2030.

  • Michigan high school student Katy Butler, 17, and Change.org organizer Mark Anthony Dingbaum delivered petitions with over 300,000 signatures to the Motion Picture Association of America in Los Angeles on March 7, 2012, asking the group to change the R rating on the anti-bullying documentary Bully.

OUTCOME:  In April, the Weinstein Company came to an agreement with the MPAA.  After toning the profanity, the film received a new rating of PG-13 (for intense thematic material, disturbing content and some strong language – all involving kids), which meant that children of all ages could watch the movie without and adult.  The Weinstein Company subsequently announced that the PG-13 rated version of Bully would be released nationwide.

  • Greenpeace’s ‘SAVE THE ARCTIC’ campaign from SHELL has gathered over 7.3 million signatures to date.  Their goal is to reach 10 million signatures and stop Shell and the Russian oil and gas giant, Gazprom to access the Arctic through Russia.

OUTCOME: Pending.

Petitions are important and vital to a campaign because the people or companies that the specific petition is written for tend to receive their message loud and clear.  If the countries or companies in question don’t listen – they end up losing votes or losing money and that speaks loud and clear.
