Today’s Question To Ponder.

There are many questions that we seek answers for…..

  • What is the meaning of life?
  • What happens after we die?
  • Is there a God?
  • What is my passion?

Ony YOUcan answer these questions by looking within.  No one can answer why YOUR meaning of life is or what YOUR passion is.  People can speculate on what happens after we die or if there is a God, but they truly don’t know.  Think about questions you have that you are seeking answers for and release them into the universe, meditate on these question and seek answers from all of life’s energy source.

Today, I ask you this question:  Is ignorance bliss?

What is YOUR answer?  What images come to mind when you ponder this question.  Really think about it and look within and listen to your thoughts.  What will you do about it when you have your answer?

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

GOODBYE TO A GREAT POET: MAYA ANGELOU

I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS

The free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

NO ONE SHOULD BE DENIED THE LUXURY OF LOVE

The Michael Sam kiss stirred much controversy – only because it was a male-on-male kiss.  We have never seen this type of scrutiny over a heterosexual kiss.  People need to realize that we are not all the same and there are different types of relationships.  I don’t recall as much controversy on the show ‘Sister Wives’ and their polygamist lifestyle (which I believe, doesn’t really justify the sanctity of marriage).  Needless-to-say, this group of polygamists are supposed to be in a loving and devoted marriage consisting of 1 man and 4 wives.  Yet – many of the religious right are outraged by two men kissing on live television.  Shouldn’t we be encouraging people to celebrate love?

Bill Maher gives his perspective on the kiss and I applaud him!

Love doesn’t just happen to a man and a women – it happens to all men and all women.  There are all types of love – love for your friends, love for your family, love for your pets, love for a television program/celebrity – there is also love for a partner, soul-mate, lover and spouse.  If we grant, respect and validate this type of love for a man and a women, why is the concept so hard to grasp for two men or two women who love each other?  Simply – religion.  People take certain (not all) religious passages to be the word of God – only when it suits their purpose and only to justify their hate and ignorance for what they don’t understand or simply – what they don’t like.  To them, I say:  “Life is too short to waste hating someone you don’t even know.  Don’t tell me that what you believe is what is – because when it comes to LOVE and being in love – no one should be denied that luxury.”

INSPIRATION CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE and ANYONE

What inspires you?  A great philosopher, religion, passion, conviction of beliefs, an artist, animals, the environment…..many things may inspire, it’s what you do with that inspiration that matters, so share and act on the things that move and inspire you.

(I’ve posted this one before….I have so much respect for what these people do and feel that it was time to share it again….please help them out in any manner that you can.)  Song – Fleetwood Mac:  “Songbird”

CONNECTING WITH SOURCE

I don’t believe in traditional religion.  I am always amazed at how those who are devout Christians always quote bible verses to emphasize their ignorance – but, they only emphasize the things that they are uncomfortable with – mostly homosexuality.  I have my own beliefs of the things that are written in the bible – I believe that it was written by men as a mechanism to control the general population by instilling fear.  That is my view – but I still do not wish any harm or mean any disrespect to those who believe a religious doctrine.

What do I believe?  I am not comfortable with the word GOD but, in the same breath, I don’t disbelief the concept of what people believe to be GOD.  I am more inclined to believe in what you can see, feel, smell and touch and not here say.  I also believe that there is something bigger than us – an energy or a source that can’t be explained.  I guess that is what people call GOD.  I believe that this is the energy that created us and the same energy that we go back to once we leave our physical bodies.  What happens after that – who knows?

What I do know about this energy/source is that it is a source of love, compassion and kindness.  This source has given us life, it has given us the air that we breathe, the food we eat, the trees, lakes, rivers and oceans.  It has given us pure beauty and we must reconnect with that love, compassion, kindness and beauty.  We must disconnect from negative thoughts, speak and actions.  We need to realign ourselves with the positive vibration of Source and we need to start with ourselves.  If we practice to be kind to ourselves – it will be much easier to be kinder to each other.  This kindness will then affect those around you and then connect and move forward in communities, towns, cities and eventually – the world.

Don’t surround yourself with negativity – stop watching programs that incite violence, hate and ignorance, turn off the television (and especially the news).  Remove yourself from those individuals in your life that are negative.  Live from love and your life will only bring you love.  Respect everyone, respect the planet including all animals.  When you respect and show kindness to everything – you are connecting to the Source that is ALL and that is LOVE.

This is what I strive to-day daily – live with kindness, compassion, love and beauty.

PARENTS ask advice to CHANGE SONS SEXUALITY

Fantastic response to parents seeking advice on changing their sons sexuality:

amydickinson

This response is awesome….if it is so easy for these parent’s son to change their sexuality – wouldn’t it be just as easy for the parents to, just to set an example?

LOVE in all its GAY glory…..

Whenever something life altering happens in our lives – we usually face those moments with our loved ones.  Our friends and our family are the people we rely on to share moments of grief, love, loss, excitement, success and failures with.  They help us move forward in the tougher times and they keep us grounded in our successes.

Michael Sam has become the first openly gay man in the NFL in being drafted by the St. Louis Rams.  Here is his reaction:

This special moment was tarnished by those individuals who view homosexuality as deviant, an abomination, against natural law and just plain wrong.  Love is love.  It takes a special kind of man to show this type of vulnerability to the world.  Ignorance will always rear its ugly head and those who are against this type of love darken our world.

Michael Sam’s expression of his love for his partner is something I have been waiting to see for a lifetime.  Media has always shown the gay community in a different light – and always during GAY PRIDE events around the world were many people are in ‘party mode’.  The above video shows that we are just like everyone else – in a loving and supportive way.

For all of you who read this and are uncomfortable with this moment….you must look within and ask yourself “What is it about ME that is finding this loving moment uncomfortable?”  After all, it is only LOVE and that is what makes our world go round.

Together, we can make the world a more positive one!

HEY YOU

Hey, you, don’t you give up
It’s not so bad
There’s still a chance for us

Hey, you, just be yourself
Don’t be so shy
There’s reasons why it’s hard

Keep it together, we’ll make it all right
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets, what ending would we do?
This could be good, hey, you

Hey, you, open your heart
It’s not so strange
You’ve got to change this time

Hey, you, remember this
None of it’s real including the way you feel

Keep it together, we’ll make it all right
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets, what ending would we do?
This could be good, hey, you

Save your soul, little sister
Save your soul, little brother

Hey, you, save yourself
Don’t rely on anyone else

First love yourself
Then you can love someone else
Then you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else

But you must first love yourself
Then you can love someone else
Then you can change someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must first

Hey, you, there on the fence
You’ve got a choice
One day it will make sense

Hey, you, first love yourself
Or if you can’t
Try to love someone else

Keep it together, we’ll make it alright
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets, what ending would we do?
This could be good, hey you

First love yourself
Then you can love someone else
Then you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else

But you must first love yourself
Then you can love someone else
Then you can change someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must first
